Textbook for Yr 11 (1 Viewer)

Hey, I was just wondering which textbook you recommend for the Preliminary Legal Studies course. We have been told to buy Legal Studies - Preliminary (Longman). Hamper, is this book any good or are there any better ones out there, just wondering... thanks

Might be good to look at your local bookstore. I've heard the usual study guides (Excel, Macquarie), and the Heinemann textbook are good.

I bought the Excel one. Gave it a quick flip-through, and it looks good.

Excel apparently goes on a bit about things not on the syllabus, but that's just things I've heard, not having the year 11 book to verify or disprove it.

Eh, I wouldn't know either, what with me not being familiar with the Year 11 syllabus and all...

mmh, i looked through the book when i did revision for year 11 yearlies and it was pretty stupid the way they'd grouped things. There was a lot of detail which was good for a few areas, but it was mainly irrelevant.

Eh, too much detail is better than not enough. As long as you can work out what information IS relevant, you can just skip the irrelevant stuff and go on.
