Hey, does anyone know a nonfiction text that conveys 'changing self'? I haven't found anything...very annoying.
These one's are sort of autobiographical:

Marley & Me
Tuesdays with Morrie

EDIT: actually, scratch those. Try something like... wait. I'll get back to you. I forgot.

Gwen Harwood's Father and Child(poem)
Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner(book)
Gwen Harwood's In the Park (poem)

those are the 3 texts i studied in class, and i found that they're very good.
I hope for more texts because there are none that are related to changing self right now except for billy elliot/

I chose a few short stories from Haruki Murakami in his book "The Elephant Vanishes".
But the stories explore the idea of changing self in a very "inward" manner. So its inner journeys rather than expressive changes with strong external influences.

Trying to relate it to the film Secrets and Lies is a challenge. But maybe there could be contrast rather than too many similarities.

Selected poems from Gwen Harwood I was considering:
Father and Child
The Glass Jar
In the Park
Mother who gave me Life
At Mornington

I got those from school last year from study of poems and they have really good links to changing self in relation to families ties.
