The turning as a text for retreat from the global (1 Viewer)

Hey i was just wondering whether anyone is or has used The Turning by Tim winton as an additional text for retreat from the global. I'm trying to decide between it and the olive grove by patrice newell- any tips? I need to know asap, as i have an assessment due over the next few weeks.

Someone in my class is using the turning apparently its good! Will see if I can grab some notes on it... Never heard of "the olive grove" however...can you give a brief summation?
