ok i've decided to go to macq uni!!

i will be doing BIT, but i don't want to do that no more, i want to do BAppFin/BEc. i want to do exactly what the title says, i want to avoid COMP115, COMP114 and COMP125 as well as MATH135 under the BIT degree in first semester. is this possible?

i was hoping to do COMP123, MATH123 in first semester in lieu of the core BIT units then transfer. is this possible???

I have 10 100 units so i can't do all of them in 1st year anyway so i ditched maths and an accounting subject so hopefully if i transfer to sydney or UNSW next year i can avoid them all together (the maths is the main thing i want to avoid because i have to do a gay maths beacuse i did 4u for the HSC).

It's not going to be easy to transfer externally, especially to UNSW or USyd; just lettin' you know.

I figured going for it this way (I'm doing commerce/law) was better than doing straight commerce at syd or UNSW and trying to transfer into the combined degree. At least this way if I don't make it I'm still in a combined law degree. I know it's going to be tough. :)

hahaha.. i'm going to macq!! hahaha...

after my first semester at macq, i'm gonna transfer to B. AppFin/ B. Ec.

and if i'm feeling like it at the end of the year, i think i might go to back to usyd and do my dream course, B. Arts/B. Commerce. but the new HECS system is the thing i'm worried about, i don't wanna fall under the new system and pay more in hecs!! i've already got a debt of around $6000 to my name, plus this years which will make it around $11000. :(

well i can tell you now, usyd seems to handle enrolment and timetabling much more 'user friendly' than macq does. i'd rather spend 2-3 hours enroling at usyd then go thru all this crap with making your own timetable and stuff with macq.

i suppose that's true. it is user friendly, but i prefer it the way it is now because i am able to do subjects that, had i done a course at sydney i wouldn't have been able to do.

what do you mean "iambored"?

at usyd you have alot of flexibility and in most degrees you have at least 1 elective per semester that you could do anywhere in the uni.

at usyd, they give you a personalised timetable, and if your not happy with it, you can alter it by either a) requesting for a whole day off and you'd get it if it was possible; or b) requesting 2 time periods (of up to 5 hours) off, eg you could request fridays 12-5pm off and mondays 9-2pm off!!

the only down side with usyd so far, is the laminated student cards!! LOL.. i mean thats tight ass for a uni that charges the most student fees of all uni's in aus!

i like this gap in time to make our own timetables because it means i can coordinate with friends

i guess it all comes down to personal preferences!!

i'd rather have a block of classes (lecs/tutes/pracs) of around 3-5 hours.. then a break!! i couldn't stand the same lecture for more than 2 hours, but it looks like MKTG will be a killer!!

Enrolling in maq is far more stressful as you have to buggerize with the timetable alot. Sydney, you give your subjects, they do it for you. No worry, and no stress (until maybe you get a timetable you don't like).
Oh, but i just can't forget the 3 hours of 'fun' i had at Sydney on the morning of BDO. I'm assuming that the 19th Feb will be just as bad, although surely not..the enrollments are only in 30 minute brackets.

yeah i agree with the usyd system being much easier. as for changing yoru timetable later on, you can manipulate the system to get you a pretty good timetable, but its time consuming.
