Do you still need an above credit-average to transfer between courses if the one ur in now has a higher UAI cut-off then the one you want to go to

yes..............................if your looking for mid-year through the guarenteed transfer scheme....but i think if you apply at end of year through UAC they take consideration both your GPA and your UAI and whivhever is higher, they use...i think

Internal Transfers do NOT consider UAIs whatsoever.

actually, if transferring through UAC, they choose your highest qualification or rank that you have i.e. uai, uni marks, work experience etc. and then that is what UWS will use as an entry mark.
Internal transfers do not take into account uai, only gpa and yea you have to get a BETTER than credit average i.e. gpa >5.01.
2d, 1c and 1p = gpa 5.25 which is a higher than credit average Hiphophorray123
Korn, it will depend on which method you transfer Internal-uni marks, External (UAC) for UWS is your highest rank.

its real easy to learn, youll get used to it in a sem or so, its also labelled in the calender and the uws website.

edit: so e.g. if you get i grade each, here is the way to calculate them (assuming that all your units are 10 credit points, thus cancelling the 10 cp part out of the calculation)
1p, 1c, 1d, 1hd = 4+5+6+7=22 then divide by 4(the number of units) 22/4= 5.5

3hd + 1f = 6. you dont need to pass all units for a transfer, but if you need todo that unit again for your other degree, then you have to do it again. if you dont have to, you still have to pay teh hecs for it though since you still attempted it.

for the others [teh other sums], you get a trasnfer, thats correct.
tehy assess your gpa (for the internal trasnfer).

the other internal transfer is the change of key program. e.g. B Bus (accg) to B Bus (marketing) or B Eng (civil) to B Eng (computer), its still a B Bus or B Eng but different majors. this does not rely on any criteria (that i know of) except that there has to be a place in the following semester or the unit coordinaer allows for it. im not too sure fully the policies, so ask your student centre about this since i did not go through it.

as Jonathan has said, yes the gpa for sem 1 and 2 for 1st year transfers.

I took shuter as meaning

Unit 1 + unit 2+ unit 3 + unit 4= Total/4

= GPA​

total all uni marks and then average them, that what i thought he meant...
