I am inquiring as to whether I can transfer to Commerce, Arts/Law or Commerce/Law from my current Arts degree.
My situation is complex so bear with me.

I've received my UAI in 2005 (guess it's ATAR now) with a score of 94.95.
I've done engineering for two years in UNSW and had a WAM of 48 (yep, 48).
Then I was suspended for a year and after the suspension I withdrew from the engineering course.
After attaining a diploma, I came back to UNSW to study Arts in 2009 semester 2.

Since I came back to uni I have been fervent in my studies. Currently I have GPA of 6.75 (For those curious cats I did high GPA subjects like linguistics) and I will probably do equal or better this semester.

To sum it all up:
- UAI 2005 94.95
- Record of suspension, after 2 years of tertiary education; withdrew from the course
- One year diploma
- One year of Bachelor of Arts, GPA 6.75 (1 FT after this semester)

With the current GPA and UAI "normally" I could transfer to commerce but I do have a record of failure in my previous study.

What I really want to know is the answer to the following questions:

1. Does my previous tertiary record hurt my chances when transferring?

2. Is it 50:50 (secondary education:tertiary education) when calculating the NRSL index when I had previous tertiary education that was longer than a period of one year?
How is NRSL calculated if you have more than one tertiary record?

3. Does it make any difference if I transfer mid-year or end of the year?

4. What are my chances of obtaining an offer for a law degree or even a commerce degree? (Preferably UNSW or USyd)

Thanks in advance~
