i dunno if this has been asked before, but

I'm not gonna get into law at unsw next year, but if I do arts, and then try to transfer into doing law as well, will I need extra time to catch up on what I've missed?

Well I don't know much about Arts, but as far as I know, you're only allowed to do a max of half "non-arts" subjects, and the rest have to be arts type subjects (such as history, language, culture, etc). I'll let an Arts student answer this too.

I mean if you do really well in Arts, then yeh you would try and transfer to law, although law is quite hard to get into I believe. Good luck! I mean even if you miss 4 subjects, its really only half a semester which you'll find you can make up for in summer school or just an extra semester at the end of your degree.

No, u will still complete ur BA/LLB in 5 years, however, u'll have a hectic second year - just ask Lazarus. Because u havent done the 1st year law subjects, u'll have to do that on top of some 2nd year law subjects...this ensures that by the start of 4th year, u'll be on the same level as the ppl that got in 1st year 2004.

Sorry, I think it was by the start of 3rd year - ie, u do the two 1st year law subjects in 2nd year, as well as all the 2nd subjects - and that's quite hectic

kinda...although I dont think I have much of a chance...I missed last year's cutoff by 0.15 (my average of UAI and 1st yr results was 95.625 and the non-recent school leaver cutoff last yr was 95.8)

ouch, 0.15.

hmmm, should you not get in, would you try graduate law, or just stick with commerce?

btw, didn't you start with economics first?
