how do the subtsances that make the electrode of an elctrolytic cell affect the products. answer this quesion ion relation to the industrial methods for the production of NaOH.

iit is 5 mark q'n and i have absolutely no clue wat to writeee

Well you need to comment on how the anode would need to be inert, like graphite, platinum or titanium. Otherwise the cell will act like a galvanic cell, and the anode will react in the cell. Then put in equations and comment on the reduction potentials of the different substances - Chlorine, Water. For example if the anode was made of copper, it has a possibility to react. And if you have a neap test, shouldn't it come with suggested answers. Anyway good luck
