i'm just wondering if a maths tutor would be more efficient in teaching me than an excel book? I know it's getting late in the year but I really need the help and are open to any suggestions to help me with general maths. Has anyone tried that computer tutor? It's supposed to work miracles, but it's pretty expensive.
Please help!!!!!!!!

If you don't understand the concepts at all of general maths then you should get a tutor so they can explain it to you so you actually understand what your doing. However, if you know the basics and just make mistakes in the exams, or have trouble with questions that are unfamiliar to you in the actual exams then get the excel/success one books which have past papers and sample questions in so you can practice (over and over again) questions which may be a little different to the ones in your textbook. Having said that, I've never had a tutor but I guess they would get past papers for you. It really just depends on how much your struggling.

About that computer tutor thing, isn't it one program which can help with maths from K-12?? So unless you have younger brothers/sisters its probably a waste of money because you've only got 2 terms left anyway..

i tutor would definitely be of more help to you if you dont understand the course, i use the excel books to just remind me of the formulas and stuff like that, but if you are struggling then i would get a tutor

i havent read any replies so bare with me.
i believe if you really need help in understand how to do something then tutor is the way to go. Simply because they can go over and over again until you understand it, while the textbook cant. Use the textbook(s) as a revision material! The excel ones arent all that great, i believe that the success ones are better thats IMO anyway.

cheers and good luck :)

Hi Duck,

Where in NSW are you? If you're in Sydney I might be able to help.
