TV shows from comp onto DVD to watch on dvd player (1 Viewer)

ok.. i have posted this b4 and ppl were helpful, but i didnt getthe answer i needed..
does anyone know a program that i can download (preferably for free) that will let me put my legal video files I own the copyright to onto a DVD that i can watch in my dvd player thats connecteed o my TV?

ive tried nero but meh it says it wont support the .avi files?

any help would be great

You need to encode the files with a program such as TmpgEnc so they are "DVD Format". Are you choosing the Nero option to burn video files to DVD?

I heard nero isnt the best program to do it through. is this true?

As long as it's encoded in DVD format already, doesn't matter what you burn it with really, Nero is fine.

this program is only for japan n north america convert to NTSC isnt it?
oh well im trying anyway

this is what im doing





is this right? (like is encoding right or am i wasting my time?)
it only seems to play the video file not the audio file

TmpgEnc has the option to encode to PAL format video. Encoding can take a few hours depending on your computer's speed and movie length.

Your bitrate is a bit low, CBR isnt the best for low bit rate things, try running it on a 2-pass VBR

Get Nero Vision or DVD Santa. The both transform any format to DVD and burn it. Its great stuff, DVD santa has better quality for some reason but Nero has alot more features. Check em out.
