Sorry if the thread title is a bit misleading.

i was having an argument with my friend in the library today. We both agree that poems are underlined but we went on to Part I and II for Father and Child, I said they were in quotes and he said underlined. Anyway neither of us had anything backing us so now we ask you.

The titles of individual poems are not underlined. Only the title of a collected volume of poetry or an epic poem (Dante, Homer etc.) needs to be underlined.

Individual poems like "Barn Owl" and "Nighfall" should be in quotation marks. That's MLA referencing anyway and this appears to be the common trend in past HSC responses that have been published.
