Out of curiosity... I'm still quite a while away...

I thought USYD didn't have undergrad med?
Somebody explain?

seems like it's combined medicine....?

dun think so... prolly just a prelayed paths for grad med... think abt it, a b sci takes 3 years, a grad mbbs at usyd takes 4years... adds up to 7 years....

i don't think undergrad med is offered at usyd...

This means it's probably still under consideration.

even if it was undergrad, i dont think its offerred for 2005 entry as there was no indication of application for that course in the UMAT booklet

btw Why did they can undergrad medicine in USYD in the first place?

there was a plan to open up a med faculty at UWS, but i read in the paper a couple of days ago that the proposal got rejected

Usyd official line is that 'they want more people from diverse background who can bring to medicine more life experiance and a lifetime choice of committment'.

In other words yr 12 students don't have enough life experiances for them to be happy to accept us.



BTW i think Usyd will proberly make you sit the GAMSAT after you finish the Science degree which is the same as it is now but making you chose Usyd earlier.

Hmm at Degree in a Day, one of the speakers (the one talking on scholarships) said that they will be probably have a small number (10 or so) Undergrad med, spots availabe.

There's rumor about a Med degree in UOW!.....but i dunno the validity of it

That's a bit disappointing... no forseeing any meaningful decline in entry requirements...

lol, you get a hang of the shapes after a while, some of my friends did UMAT, and the hardest section is prolly the reasoning one. then again, english is not my forte...

Perhaps they're trying to win back the 100 UAI people...

Are you guys sure USyd has this course???And if there is 20 people, that is as good as not having the course.

thats what makes it "special". Its like having only 3 uni's in australia offering optometry. it makes them "specialised". I dont think any other uni offers Bsc/MBBS, its either MBBS/Arts or MBBS.
