im seriously confused because everyone seems to tell me different things. i want to do dent at usyd, but the atar is off the charts and no way im getting that, but if i do a bach of med sci is there actually a transfer to dent minding that i do pass whatever test that is needed to move across? i thought there was, but is there any shifty untied strings here. do i need to do any GAM/UCAT if i just do bach/med and then is it just a transfer cos thats what i thought it was as i was told there was no UCAT for usyd??
Any help is deeply appreciated 🙏 <3

@jimmysmith560 u moved the thread and ignored the question 💔
Patience my friend...

My understanding is that you cannot transfer to the Doctor of Dental Medicine. You can either receive an offer through the undergraduate path (Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Dental Medicine) for which you must meet the ATAR requirement and perform favourably in the relevant assessment, or you can complete an undergraduate degree and then apply for the postgraduate Doctor of Dental Medicine, which requires a favourable GPA in the undergraduate degree as well as favourable performance in the GAMSAT.

I hope this helps! :D

one sec im just a bit confused, so is it theres two things the 7 year one which is the compounded B/S and Doctor of dental med, so the first one u said and u have to get like 99.80 or wtv, and then theres the second one which is undergrad which is any course and then i just transfer to what, the 4 year dental course or the 7 year one which is just the first one i didn't meet the atar requirements for?

No worries, in the case of the postgraduate path, you would apply for the 4-year Doctor of Dental Medicine after you complete an eligible Bachelor's degree. The main difference between the two paths is the GAMSAT requirement. In the undergraduate path, i.e. the Bachelor of Science/Doctor of Dental Medicine, the GAMSAT is not required.
