UTS vs Usyd vs UNSW for Information Technology (1 Viewer)

now i don't know if I.T at UTS is the same as computer science at UNSW. USYD has an atar of like 97.50 just for B.I.T. UNSW has a combined course B Digital media / BSc for 86.45 ATAR, UTS is N/A - interview required, atar of around 90 recommended.

anyone had any previous experiences with these?

btw, whats the difference between B.I.T and B.I.T / BSc ?

For USYD there's also Computer Science & Technology. Cut off is 82.25 which is more achievable than BIT @ USYD.
UNSW has a co-op scholarship for something to do with IT (information systems, I think) but from what I hear the UTS co-op scholarship is better. At UTS they accept people with an ATAR of 85+ for BIT.

There's also Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Diploma in Information Technology Professional Practice @ UTS which includes industry experience which is a plus. That course has a cut off of 83. There's Bachelor of Business Bachelor of Science in Information Technology with a cut off of 87.10.

I think that UTS & USYD would be the best Unis for IT.

Bachelor of it is a scholarship program in which you get paid $14500 per year to study. It is sponsored by major industries. That's what I (chromatic) am doing. You need 90+ atar and a good interview.

Science in it is pretty much the same but is NOT a scholarship, therefore u only need 83 atar

Oh yeah and B.I.T inlcudes 2 six month interships (paid workplacement)
yeah thats at UTS. BSc is different at UNSW, its like the engineering version of UTS ICT engineering.

Computer science is more technical (programmer, graphics designer), IT is more management (project manager, business analyst), in my understanding

I.T is more business related, meaning you can help troubleshoot with peoples computer problems, learn to program, you could become an animator, graphic deisgner etc (wherever you wana go really). Comp sci is heavily maths, physics related. You go (i think) in greater detail to circuit boards etc, but it ultises heavy maths and physics concepts to teach you ways of computing. Comp sci or ICT engineering may be stressful if your not confident with maths.

I.T is no maths (or very basic maths), no physics, must have good communication skills, love computers. I think I.T people are more in demand at the moment, since business generally require them for everyday tasks.

I'm sure companies will see an I.T degree the same as a comp sci degree like really. If your good at programming is a company really going to care what degree you have? If you want to design computer systems I'm sure I.T and ICT engineers will be hired to work together to create a new system. so really it's your choice. I.T seems like a very relaxed course to me, (because I love I.T and enjoy solving I.T related problems, NOT maths problems that won't mean much in solving problems in the practical computer world.)

It's hard to choose between comp sci & IT but I I'd pick IT over comp sci.
