im not sure wat the conduction band is. is it a level that forms b/w electrons, or is it an imaginary level that is used in symbolising the conductivity of the material?

Conduction band applies only when we visualise the band theory

it is the lowest unfilled band for an atom or group of atoms to have at 0 K

once electrons are in the conduction band, that means it has been provided with efficient amount of energy to conduct electricity

think of it as a place at a river bank.

the valence band is like the river bank. where things are that arent flowing.
the conduction band is the area where the river is flowing through.
