Can someone please outline what values are and how to identify them in relation to the context of a text?
Are values portrayed using techniques similar to the portrayal of themes?

This would be highly appreciated!
Thx in advance

A text is a PRODUCT of those values and those values are the issues relevant in the time it was written (i.e. the context). Values can be anything from pro-feminists to scientific endeavours, for example, a value in Frankenstein was the role of playing God and scientific discovery such as galvanic re-animation and this value was a product of the period of romanticism where Shelley wanted to outline the consequences of playing god (in relation to science).

A composer will portray these values by techniques, yes, questions will ask "how has the composer done this?" or something, the how = techniques. No matter what discuss techniques anyway
