I know that \overrightarrow can be used to produce a vector like , but I can't find a way to represent vectors like and using the tilde notation. Is there a way to do this within forum posts?

Thanks.

I don’t believe it exists in absence of some package. You could also try using bold letters on the unit vectors as an alternative.

Yeah, I believe codecogs supports a pretty limited form of basic latex math commands so I wouldn't be surprised if certain features like this don't work here.

There are alternatives to codecogs like MathJax and KaTeX, but I suspect the support will still be pretty basic. We've evaluated MathJax before when we migrated to different software in mid-2018 but found some incompatibilities that affected a lot of old posts so held off on it.

Thanks for your responses. It's a shame that tilde notation is missing from the implementation of latex that works with the forum software, and I am guessing that this is not something that can be easily modified.
