over the hols i went to vietnam and attended the wedding of one of vietnams no 1 pop stars... im not sure of the spelling but his name was lan chu?? does anyone know his music?

i've listened to viet music for years and i wouldn't recommend vietnamese POP music because it's 99.9% folk crap unlike china, taiwan, korea, japan etc. most viet artists who sing mostly pop are often living in the USA. there are viet music videos (some pop and some folk) available in australia but i think those are pirated copies or something.
here are some websites on vietnamese pop (and folk hah) music who are in america and vietnam. it's mostly written in vietnamese so yeah hopefully you know a bit of viet.

ummmm but if you like vietpop go for My Tam and Thanh Thao, theyre alright

i agree. all the 'hot young guys' sing like 50 year old men! unfortunately . and the girls on the show dance very gay (face it it's just people in ao dais swaying around or standing very very still ). i wanna see them sing english pop or rnb music for once instead of lynda trang dai and her husband singing all of them. asia's really weird too with its extremist views of the war sung by the older artists and the teenybopper music sung by the younger artists.

i wish international artists tour in vietnam for once
