Just wanted to know if anyone knew approx. what the WAM is for a final year elec engg student? An average student. Do they scale up your WAM as well to see if you get a honors and stuff? Or do they just calculate your marks and thats it. Reason im asking is cause for a masters program offered by unsw (tech. management), they say that an above average elec engg graduate has a wam of 61%-65%.

Also, for industrial training, anyone done it overseas? Advisable? And how do you get your placement...especially if you have bad grades.

Thanks

i know a few that have done it overseas... do it if u want... there's no real bad things about it apart from the obvious issues with going overseas (language, money, don't know anyone, different cultures etc)

there's a few avenues you can go through to find a job (contact ur school office) that might help point u in the right direction, but you'll still have to choose which ones to go for, contact them, send resumes, interviews etc

bad marks aren't all that bad. lots of people have bad marks, yet they all end up getting industrial training somewhere. just make sure ur resume and interview is up to scratch and have half a clue what ur doing.

if worse comes to worse, apply for a council job. they're great for a relatively cushy job, but some smaller councils don't pay you for industrial training... but some do.

check your school website (e.g. mechanical, civil, elec, etc) for info about industrial training, but yea it may be the same info as the ones posted above
