weird : windows login (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,
Just something weird im experiencing on my desktop pc....

You know when u get the welcome screen in XP PRO (im not running SP2) - well, when i click on my admin account, enter PW, its hangs for about 2minutes....at the "applying new settings" or whatever stage...with quite a bit of HDD activity.

Then, when finally logged in,
All my shortcuts are gone, but not the default recycle bin etc,
my IE history is cleared,
my homepage (ninemsn) gets reverted to the default microsoft one,
the "my documents" folder in the start menu is cleared,
my screen resolution is set to default,

Its like everytime i log in, the GUI etc etc is back to default, as if i just installed winxp.

I havent googled this yet, but any ideas ?

Sounds like the work of spyware...Id give it a good scan

It could be that when you turn off the computer, windows doesn't save your admin user settings too.

btw, why don't you have service pack 2 installed?
