pure stenttgh and power are closely related to eeac othr,infac, powwer is speed times strength. strength is the maximum ammount that can be lifted at one time. strength training must be indovidualized for each athlete.

a good strength program will also include a combination of eccentric, concentric, isometric and isokinetic work 2-3 times per week for each muscle group.
a power pprogram will hhave he above 2-3 timees per week as well as plyometrics 1-2 tiimes per week
strength training will use 3-5 set of 2-6 contractions close to rep max (RM) and a slow pace and the program will last 6-10 weeks.
a power program will still use 3-5 sets hpwever, there will be 2-10 reps at 75%RM, the program will last 4-10 weeks and all contractions will be at high speed.
both programs use the specificity principle and should be individualized for each athlete
