What causes a vortex when you stir a liquid? Is it something to do with surface tension?
How does the strength of bonds affect the vortex?
I know that it has to do with intermolecular bonding. I am guessing that the stronger the bond between the molecules, the vortex will be larger and last longer because the molecules will hold together allowing the vortex to keep swirling. If there were weak bonds the molecules wouldn't hold together for a vortex. They would just seperate immediately and the vortex would disappear or never appear at all.
Am I right? Am I even close?
