You wont be allowed to wear thongs to lab's at least due to OH&S Regulations which the uni must follow.

well some people think uni is a fashion show and dress up all nice etc. others don't give a rats ass and wear hobo clothes. Just wear whatever makes you comfortable (as long as you look reasonable :p )

Only the ones who can afford to.

I myself don't see the point of cleanliness. It's easy enough spilling ArCOOH (benzoic acid) on my pants, which gives me a wonderful excuse once a week to use the lab's safety shower. That usually washes off any ketchup or whatever I may have dropped on my clothes in McDonald's, which is clean enough for most things.

Ok real answer now, people do obviously wear different clothes each day. This doesn't however mean that people will laugh at you if they see you in the same shirt as last week, because we (almost) all understand the mystical art of "laundry" and "reusable clothing" (does not apply to edible underwear).

T-shirts are very popular, as are jeans. Thongs are very popular with guys, particularly when worn by girls.

Wear whatever you feel comfortable, although like someone said you can't wear thongs in when you have pracs. Closed shoes only. Plus if your doing pracs you will have to wear a horrible white lab coat :p

I don't have heaps of clothes and I'm not gonna go out and buy brand new clothes every week. I'll just wear what I've got even though it's not the latest fashion. All of my clothes are kind of neutral. They will last me for ages cos you can wear them in any decade! lol

UOW's main line of clothing within the unibar includes:

The Summer Fashion

Shoes/Thongs
Board Shorts
T-Shirt

The Winter Fashion

Shoes/Thongs
Board Shorts
T-Shirt
Jumper/Jersey

Sometimes people get all fancy and wear those shirts with buttons and long pants.
