Hey all (first post!)

I'm at North Sydney Girls High and the moment, and I heard that class rankings also affect your internal mark (not too clear on the details though).

But being at a selective school, will you still get the bottom mark of the cohort if you are the worst student, or do they take into account the fact that most students there are going to do exceptionally/above average well?

thanks!

(ps. i cant read some of the threads, why is that so! ty)

If you are ranked last in your year, your internal mark will be the exam mark of the person who scored lowest in the exam in your year.

remember that just because you're in a high ranking selective school doesn't mean the last ranking student still gets an ATAR of 90+

someone in ruse got a UAI in the 60s in the past lol

Yes, you'll get the bottom mark of your cohort's external exams. There's no need for a special procedure for selective schools - the whole point of the system is to provide a standardised process for everyone.

Are you doing your HSC this year or next? "High School Graduation 2012" on your profile, so I'm going to assume...not this year?

You have nothing to worry about if your HSC is next year, year 11 is almost completely irrelevant! Cept for Chemistry fundamentals lol
