I think it's a wild-type end-mutant strain?
So I suppose it is a mutant.

It seems as though I was wrong.
It is not a mutant at all, quite the opposite

So it is a typical form of an organism/strain/gene, or a characteristic that occurs in nature.
(Is the bread helga's? Naturally!)

Think of mutants that form from selective breeding, and reverse it!
