depends on your strengths...
have you considered dropping any subject, again depends on how you are doing in them. :)

hey JM, I think you've done a good job with last year's statistic. I checked mine with yours and the marks are only 0.05 off!

so i guess I can say that yours is pretty accurate with high UAI range.

i know people who got:
high 96 with e3, band 5 and 2 band 6
mid 97 with 8u over 90 and the rest band5

so my guess is:

I'm doing
2u Eng adv - band 6
2u Maths - band 6
ext 1maths - e3
eco - band 6
chem - band 5 (high)
phy - band 5 (high)
ipt - band 5(high)

i reckon you could get 97 with that
just aim for band 6s in everything

At least 12 units in Yr 12? God. What school is that?
I'm going to ask the same question. I've tried a UAI calculator, but I don't like them very much.
What marks would I need to get 96+ with the following subjects?

English Advanced
English Extension 1
Chemistry
Modern History
Drama
Visual Arts

(taking into consideration the scaling of subjects Drama and Visual Arts...even though they are difficult subjects they scale us...reletively poorly. Damn them!)

Thanx

It's not that "much" to do 14 units, you know?

anyway if you want 96+, you probably need a few band 6 and some high band 5's

you see, English, Drama, and Visual arts can be marked very subjectively! Since you've only got 11 units. I would say that, your drama, and Visual arts need to be in band 6. all your other subjects probably need to be in the high band 5's.

Hi, I got 96.5 and while I didn't do entirely the same subjects as you, I did go to the same school :)

I found Modern History scaled badly. I got 89 in MH and it didn't count in my UAI, instead my 85 in chem counted! So I think you would need to get mid-higher 80's in chem, a band 6 in modern, I got 42 in Eng Ex 1 so you would need something around that or higher, I got 90 in Eng Adv... I think you would need to get marks in those subjects around what I got or a bit higher because I did 2 u maths + maths extension and it scaled really well so to make up for that you would need to get a bit higher.

As for drama, courtney got a band 6 in it and she had a good UAI (not near 96, but it doesn't seem to scale too terribly) so if you got a high band 5 or band 6 in that it wouldn't affect your UAI negatively I don't think. I don't really know with VA, but with your artistic talent I'm sure you will do very well.

This is by no means conclusive, and you really can't tell... I wanted 97+ at least and I didn't get it, and you can't trust UAI estimators either. I hope I gave you some idea of what you might need :) Also it changes year by year.

And I agree with sugary, I did 13 units and I certainly don't regret it... because I would have dropped subjects that ended up counting in my UAI!!!

Also, as sugary said, some of those subjects are very subjective (You might have heard about my Eng Ex 2 fiasco from barbs) so you never can tell...

Anyway, best of luck, I'm sure you will do well and if you work hard you will reach your goals!
