Q. How can I determine which material (any form or shape of materials) absorbs and reflects sound; through qualitative analaysis only - no measurements or statistics involved at all.

I must produce a method for each:

- To determine which materials absorb sounds?
- To determine which materials reflect sounds?

Remember; only qualitative analysis.

I know that sound waves travel through solids (or dense material) faster than in liquids or gases.
