hey, just wondering approx what raw mark (on average - i know it varies from year to year) scales to band 6?

No one knows besides HSC judges.. if u got 100% thats got to be a band 6 though.

which would suggest i got far from 100% if i'm worried about getting/notgetting band 6 ;)

for arguments sake.. ok 15% of the state get a band 6 in it.. but the 'smarter' peopel do it.. i dunno id estimate 83-88/100

Possibly even lower. I'd say 80 is a good bet.

well if williamc is right in saying only 15% of the state get band 6 .. I'm guessing mid to low 80's too .. considering it's the kind of subject where people either go really well or do not so well .. there isn't that many in the middle.

Im from a public non selective school. Half of my class left the exam room 1 hr before the exam finished

It's impossible to know your internal mark, its all dependant on the external exam and how your cohort does. id say band 6 would be more like 87 and above maybe. Depends a lot on how they mark it..... wow what an obvious assumption lol

Haha, Internal marks = internal assessments and trials.
External (meaning outside, like external stability; go figure sluts) = HSC Mark

Then they calculate your UAI based on your cohorts performance and your rank, then the combined Internal and external mark.

Isn't that how it rolls?
