I am doing well in 2U and averaging at about 90, but in 3U my average is only 51, but i am improving and last test got 69. In the preliminary i am confident that i got above 80. Should I wait for my preliminary score and see what i got or just keep what i have? And what should i get f i were to go and do 4U?

me

personally, i am in your situation, with slightly higher marks, i.e 79% in half yearlies.... aiming for 85%+ in prelims

i am doing 4 unit and not basing it on my marks for 2 - 3 unit, which should be higher... lol i go better in 3u than 2u

So what u think i shud do is to try 4U maths and then see if it works out? and if it does then keep it going? cause the thing is that i also do ext eng and chem, they take a lot of time.
i also cheked it on the SAM. If i were to get only 60 or 65 in the hsc i'd be gettin lower, than if i got about 95 for 2U.

no idea

i seriously don't know what you should do... my teacher says that 4 unit is a "weird" math course and you have to be insane to do it

she wouldn't let me do it unless i got over 75% in 3 unit

if u feel you can do it... then do it... i put 60% into SAM, with marks like 90 for 2 u and 85 for 3 u and got a 96 UAI, which to me is F#$(king great.... so even if u get low marks it doesn't matter, the UAI is still good

that prolly didn't make sense

lol . i'm in the same situation..

i know that i can improve because atm i don't do my homework for both 3u and 2u..

i try to study before the tests.. so my marks are sorta all over the place

2u : 98% (top 10) , 70%
3u : 60% , 92% (top 15)

so how much work.. like .. how much practice will i have to do to keep up with 4u maths next year? because im also doing ext 2 english and phys and chem and eco.. which are like crazy subjects.. and also it's gona be 14 units so >_<

everyone is in the same situation >_<

however, i need 4U for its scaling purposes. And if i do well then that'd be great. cause i'm doing anceint histroy, legal studies, chemistry, english extension and maths extension. so i guess most eople are in teh same situation as me. can someone who has made up their mind, give me some solid advice that could help me decide once and for all?

just do it!

im in the same situation as u. Dont do it just for the sclaing purpose, that's stupid. Do it cause u like maths, and maybe cause ur insane. I'll prob do 4u cause i like it and im doin alright(top 15 in 2u &3u)
Just do it! See how it goes but i reckon if ur doin 14+ units with 4u drop a subject to compensate cause 4u requires alot of work!

Yur crazy no... if u do 4u drop either eco, chem or phy... if u dont wanna drop em dont do 4u, keep ur 3u maths and ull be fine. Ext 1 maths might take u half an hour a night (thats 4 me n im comin 1st :)) but 4u might take u anywere from 2-4 hrs a night, with ext 2 english and 6 other units u will literaly go crazy... lol

there was about 65 at the start of the year. but then at the end of the year, when we were close prelims, there were only bout 55 left. there about 15 that i think are dropping.
