I would recommend doing

  • math1141
  • engg1000
  • phys1121
  • CHEM1101 OR CHEM1031

and leaving engg1811 until semester 2

thanks for the reply, also is chem1031 just a harder version of chem1101?

thanks, I should mention that i'm doing chem engineering + commerce, not sure if that makes a difference for sem 1
Look at the part where it gives you options. You need to think about which pair of subjects interests you the most. If you choose Pair 1, then obviously the suggestion mentioned above is not appropriate for you.

And ONE of the following pairs of courses

Pair 1
MATS1101 Engineering Materials and Chem (6 UOC)
Followed by:
CEIC1001 Engineering Chemistry (6 UOC)

Pair 2:
CHEM1011 Chemistry A (6 UOC)
Followed by:
CHEM1021 Chemistry B (6 UOC) OR CHEM1041 Higher Chemistry B (6 UOC)

Pair 3:
CHEM1031 Higher Chemistry A (6 UOC)
Followed by:
CHEM1041 Higher Chemistry B (6 UOC) OR CHEM1021 Chemistry B (6 UOC)

w/Commerce makes no difference for semester 1, unless you have an urge to do a commerce subject. If you do, then you could probably leave ENGG1000 until semester 2 or semester 1 the following year. But it's best to get these subjects out the way as they are fundamentals to engineering.
