In our assessments in week 8, we will be watching a 10 minute clip from an undefined movie. We then have to evaluate which techniques have been used to convey the idea of the imaginary journey.

Anyways, my question is this:
Which techniques should i look out for? Which audio techniques, which visual techniques?

first of all, determine what the purpose of the director is and what they're trying to convey about the imaginary journey. (sorry we didn't do journeys so i can't really help you there)
try to do a mis-en-scene thingy. talk about the camera angles (close up, long shot etc), music, voice over, where everything is placed on the screen, cinamatography (lighting) and just whatever you will see.

remember to talk about th text as a film clip, ie. use film techniques.

sound effect
montage
symbolism (I would imagine that this would be used a great deal in journey)

and basically what Toodulu had explained
