Welcome to the fabulous subject of Economics!
Equipment
- Well, it's all up to you!
--> You might want pens and paper/books to jot down rough notes in class and answer questions (either from the textbook OR past paper questions but this applies more to Year 12).
--> Ruler and calculator - you never know when you might need to draw those economic diagrams and do calculations (e.g. in Year 11 Labour Markets).
--> A laptop/computer at home to type up your finalised notes (if you intend on making notes).
--> Textbook (your school should provide you with one) and additional textbooks (you might want to buy an extra one for supplementary material).
How to excel in preliminary and HSC Economics
-
http://community.boredofstudies.org/22/economics/324354/state-rankers-guide-economics.html - If you haven't already, I suggest checking out this guide. It should be beneficial for your study of Economics in Year 11 and 12.
-
http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/pdf_doc/economics-st6-syl-from2011.pdf - Download the syllabus --> you'll be basing your notes off the syllabus. It contains Year 11 and Year 12 topics.
- Know your syllabus content, learn the fundamentals of writing a A-level Economics essay and finally, practise, practise and practise with questions.
Good luck!
