What is a aspect? I know what a theme is. But whats a aspect and whats the difference between a aspect and theme?

I have a essay q, "What aspects of Witness had a significant impact upon you"
and it says to use ideas. Ideas=themes according to the people I talk to.

=)

Aspect in this context can be thought of as parts of, or things in.

So, look at how the "things in" or scenes in witness have impacted on you.
I do not know the text, so I can not give you a direct answer, but just say you looked at a text focusing on a boy dealing with the death of his mother, you could say that the death of the mother had the biggest impact on you. (This is the aspect of the text.)

I hope that helps. =)

An aspect is a part of something greater. A theme is an underlying conceptual motif, the meaning behind something. Individual aspects add together to reveal the theme of the complete work.
