Firstly, if your in year 12, you should get a casual job, not part time :)
I think most places are recruiting late Feb or early March...
Working during HSC and Trial exams is no good
And getting a job at Big W or K Mart or whatever is a good idea...

You might get lucky because some stores have christmas recruitment, but out where I live at least it is near impossible top get a job then.... but don't sacrifice your HSC for the sake of a job....

Do you know anyone that owns a business? You could ask them...

The best way to secure a job for after HSC is to go through the ColesMyer (Kmart & Grace Bros) xmas casual recruitment which in done online in about July. The process takes a few months, but you'll have a job waiting for you after the HSC

Yup try the coles myer one coz they hire quite a lot of people for christmas.
Other stores do the same, but usually not quite so early. Try around Sept or so? Another thing to keep in mind is that alot of places will not hire you if you are going away at all, whether its for schoolies or family holiday etc. So that makes things a little difficult...

I am getting back from overseas on the 29th March, so I am wondering when would be the best time to apply for a job. Do you think places like David Jones start recruiting in May or June for the Mid-year sales and Christmas? Anyway if anyone knows, thanks

They generally don't hire specifically for mid-year sales, your best bet is to go through the xmas casual recruitment where u start work from bout October
