The 'best' MQ business degree is the one that corresponds w/ ur future career aspirations.

ie. If u wanna become an accountant u should do the BCom-Accg degree, an actuary BCom-Acst, etc etc.

sif not. an entrepreneur is someone who makes profit from taking a risk. Knowing the crazy drop out rate and low labour demand, we actuaries make take a huge risk in doing the course, so we're already the craziest entrepreneurs, gambling with our lives.

So a gambler is an entreprener ?
Tue if you take it in that way but were talking about the "best" business degrees for those wheely dealy company executives...

In my eyes - since we on about business degrees for those who wanna run their own business assumingly - i cannot see an actuarist running their own business. :p (edit: unless u setup a firm of actuarists and contract out ur company's services...hey, not a bad idea :p )

A gambler isn't an entrep.

A gambler is someone who walks into the casino thinking they're going to win and then lose.

lol, but mala said, that an entrepenur is a person who takes a risk - and profits from it...so a gambler can fall under that catergory :p
if thats wrong, then so would be doing acst fit as being an entrepenour.

all my point is, simply put, that if ur looking for a business degree in order to run a business / start a business ..saying in importing or exporting goods...acst degree wont be the "best". edit : ok, any degree, including acst will give u a great start and foundations in the business world / either as an employee or self-employed trader...but yeah...u know what i mean.

An entrep. is someone who "manages" risk (and organises things), and a distinction between that and merely "taking huge" risk needs to be made.

As for setting up their own business, people have shown you don't need a degree.

Exactly, so why in particular - would an acst degree be the best degree for a business minded person (entrep) ?

I'm not arguing that line, cos I disagree with Actuarials => Entrepreneur. Even a plumber can be an entrepreneur.
