Whenever i move mp3s to my music folder it seems if the files are correctly tagged the wmd im assuming moves the files to different folders- which is starting to piss me off

how can i change/modify this setting?
or do i have to start using a different media player?

also for mp3 codecs i use lamemp3, but some mp3 files wont play on wmd for some reason- when i though the lame codec handled all mp3 files??

In WMP, go to Tools-> Options, then the 'Copy Music' tab. I'm not quite sure what you were looking for, but everything you need should be in Options =)

And yes, lame should play all your MP3 files correctly in WMP, however if a file is damaged or corrupted it might not. You can keep using WMP, but I'll plug winamp, because it's awesome, and really whips the llamas ass.

Hope that helps,

i thought winamp was going under or something?

and nah that didnt solve it- the ripping options only display options for audio extraction etc...

i heard the lame mp3 codec might have problems with sp2- but i couldnt be bothered going thru the wmp forums to leanr all about it so i came here

You could try reinstalling the lame codec =)

And nah, Winamp isn't going under. It's lost commercial sponsorship, but with millions of people using it, it's not going to die anytime soon.
