Our school has trials week 5/6 term 3. What work do you suggest I do in these two weeks? Do you think doing past papers 7 weeks before is a bit silly?
this is for subjects like economics, maths, business... English is all good.

I'd use the time to make notes and refine them - probably do a few past papers. You want to solidify your knowledge, basically.

Make notes, read and understand them. Past papers 4 weeks out would suffice but if you are confident - start them now.
