Have some questions:
1) What do you guys think is the most dominant theory today in IR? (out of the traditional 'ways of seeing'). It's kind of hard to say, because it almost seems like the state has the power and favours the capitalists, however pluralism/unitarism assume that the 'actors' are all equivelant in power.

2) Who's a writer I could mention for unitarism? Could Taylor be one of them?

oh and:
3) Pluralism (at least Dunlop) is based on empirical evidence, I assume. Unitarism is more ideological (?). What's marxism?

i wouldve thought unitarism is most dominant
well it seems that the state is influencing IR policy. However, through the new workplace relations act this year, it is favouring capital. Thus its not the neutral arbitrator of IR.
Whilst I think unitarism is the theory attempted to be used, its not really realistic, as its favouring employer bodies (an external distraction) whilst getting rid of another external distraction. There should, according to unitarists just be the state, employer and employees.

ok im sure people want my supernotes.
ive done weeks 1-3: the introduction type stuff to theories. I have a bit from the textbook, mostly lecture material, one of the readings in more detail than the other.
and a practice (incomplete) essay with a format guideline based on how they want us to answer the question.
