I've got two questions.

1. I'm trying to work out what my rough aligned mark will be to enter into SAM. Here are my marks from the preliminary course:
English (standard): 70/100 Rank: 8/58
General Mathematics: 88/100 Rank: 3/64
Economics: 86/100 Rank: 7/42
Business Studies: 81/100 Rank: 4/45
Ancient History: 85/100 Rank: 9/60

I goto Killara High, so the standard is pretty high and there's a lot of competition in the top 15-20 places of each subject. Say I kept up these ranks or improved on them, what kind of aligned marks should I be looking at entering in? This is what I came up with based on percentile ranking estimates.
English (standard): 76
General Mathematics: 90
Economics: 92
Business Studies: 91
Ancient History: 90

2. Being in the upper level of ranks for my school, how will this affect my moderated mark? Take into account that my school is comprehensive, and I think in 2001 or 02 the top comprehensive govt school in the state. I'm not sure how we did in 03 (but we had 1 or 2 people get 100 UAI).

Thanks in advance

I would say you estimated pretty good.

But you may want to fiddle with them, which is easier to do on JUAIseek with the sliders.

Only thing I was worried about was over estimating...

I don't want to go and set some goals to keep these marks up, and then find out I overshot the mark (or undershot haha)..

Ideally I need over 96 for commerce at UNSW, but with my subjects that isn't going to be a walk in the park... I guess i'm just aiming over 92 because UTS commerce is around that, and the kuringai campus is only 87 or 88...

Cheers

you have good rankings in all your courses and you go to
a good school. That alone should allow you to get a good UAI, assuming you keep up the level through y12.

you estimates allow you to get around 92.

96 would be a tough ask unless you improved all your subjects by 2-3 marks (which isn't as easy as it seems).

Haha yeh I know I made some bad decisions about my subjects at the end of yr10... I kinda decided that I didnt want to goto uni and I was just goin to finish school to please my parents, thats the reason for std eng and gen maths... I really should be doin adv eng + 3u maths. I guess it comes down to how lazy I was/am.. :)
