i just had a titration practical assessment that was worth 30% for chemistry. we were given 30 minutes to do this, anbd we were split into 4 different groups that did it at different times. the first pair of groups did it in seperate rooms and then the second pair came in to do theirs after we finished.

i was in the first pair. well we were also in seperate rooms. what happened is that we were given 30 mins to do our titration. however, we all knew that would have to eitehr rush it or do it very quickly.
what happened is that at the end when we were doing the written part of the exam they stuffed us up with the timing.

*our teacher first comes into the room and announces that there would be plenty of time to do our written part of our exam.

*he then comes into the room and announces that there would be 9 minutes left. at this time i was on my last titre and not panicking at all.

*he then comes into the room like about 2 minutes later and says that there is 5 minutes left. by this time i am panicking a bit, however, i am almost finished, and was about to sit down and do the written part of my exam.

*he comes back like about half a minute later and says " i'm sorry, but you have 30 seconds left"

we then look back at him in disbelief and start questioning him about him telling us not long ago that there was actually 9 and then 5 minutes left.

it also showed in the results that we got back today. our particular group did considerably worse than the other 3 groups that had the proper time constraint.

what you have to remember is that there was 30 minutes allocated, this was worth 30% and also after this assessment, we had completed 70% of our school assessment with only trials to come.
are they allowed???? and what can i do about this???

That's why you should bring your own watch and if possible use classroom or laborator clocks to prove that your teacher was wrong in timing.
