I know this sounds quite silly to ask but is it true that people at UTS don't really have the opportunity to socialise with others much because the uni doesn't really have a campus feel to it?

I've heard from people who go there that they just simply go to UNI and then go home.

I'm thinking about studying at UTS next year. Can you guys recommend me any good society clubs i should join?

Thanks! :D

well I'm part of the photography society, writer's society and students association and barely have time to go to all of their events, but I make the effort to turn up to things that I see as important. So yeah it's definitely possible, plus if you hang out on the couches on the concourse or if you're a humanities student there's the common room/couches in the bon marche (humanities) building where you can also hang - people are constantly passing through so you're sure to meet someone you know from somewhere eventually lol

Haha. The Gamer Club looks awesome compared to usyd and unsw's gamer clubs. Has anyone here been to their lan nighters and know how many people usually turn up?... UTS will probably be my first preference now

dont take this the wrong way but why would you want to stay at uni after class?
i hate that place.

anyway i have this idea about people who hang out at uni all day trying to make friends, to me it seems like they maybe dont have any friends where they come from..

i dunno that probably sounded really rude but i leave as soon as i can, i would much rather go home and hang out with my regular friends than spend an extra hour at uni..

you dont really need to join clubs or societies to make friends. Just attending parties and special events where everyone is having fun is enough to make new friends, even if youre the shy and introverted one.

That sort of sucks.
I think that uni might be a good place to make like-minded friends who want to do/be similar things. At school (especially if you come from a small one) the people aren't necessarily the most diverse.

Besides, there's nothing wrong with MORE friends :D

'o day's on the 18th, is that good in regards to meeting people and getting familiarised? from the experiences of people who've been to it in the past?
