Do you pick your majors in the first year? If so,
Is this a valid set of subjects to major in Finance?

Also, can I do a double major if so what can I major in?

No you pick it up in the second year...

And if you're doing B.Eco and you want to major in Finance you have to do a double major. With a compulsory major from your choice of economics, econometrics or a couple of other things(@ UNSW, @sydney theres only d two). Unless if you want to transfer to Commerce at the end of the year.

But these subjects are sufficient if you want to say do a major in eco and finance...

UNSW?

You can pick your majors any time before you graduate. I officially selected mine in 3rd year.

Those are pretty normal courses for 1st year students
