hey guys just wondering if its ok to attend a lecture i havent got an allocation for on subject activities. Coz the only lecture time with slots available clashes with another tute of mine. or should i just try and swap with someone?

anyways, i do eng....and i hardly ever enroll in tut's....i just rock up to any1 that is perfectly suitable for my timetable and just sign up on the spot.

was just wondering if its important or not, coz i think you can go to pretty much any lecture time you want, as long as you turn up

Yeh you can. Tutorials on the other hand can also be the same, just depends on how strict your coordinator is and if attendance is recorded.

It is never recorded.. there are too many students to do a rollcall every lecture.

Huratio in regards to the comments about marking off named during lectures, I would add that it is dependent upon what sort of "lecture" it is. Whilst, the uni uses the term "lecture", sometimes the 3 hr classes termed lectures are actually seminars that require attendance.

Some lecture like Accounting for Business wont be checked (although Jon Tyler used to think you could..... practically the people assigned to 6pm Friday came to the 11am Friday lecture and the lecture hall was packed).

However, many Business subjects (particularly Management and HRM) will have 3 hour "lectures", which are practically seminars and they have an attendance requirement.
