So what places do you guys recommend, I think JB HI-FI or Harvey Norman/Domanye are good places to buy.

What do you guys think?

umm i wouldnt recommend harvey norman, jb hi fi, bing lee....... as ive heard they just keep there laptops out the back.. so the hardware is pretty old.. hmm-- maybe a computer shop

lol. you'd be better off going to a local computer store that can tailor a computer to exactly how you'd want it, compared to going to one of the chain dept stores.

although, sometimes they chuck things in for free.

jb hifi, bing lee, myer (they got an asus m51va deal, laptop, carry bag, mouse, ext hdd, ms office 07, all for $1999, go get it)

not sure, catalogue is downstairs in my uncle's room, so im not gonna check, just go on myer.com.au in electrical..

Have you got one? If you do, how old and tell me the details of it?
my dell desktpo was 1.8ghz, 512 SDRAM, 80GB HDD and came with Radeon 9200SE - it's lasted 8 years without any kind of hardware malfunction nor software.

Yeah i think, ASUS, dell, MSI makes good laptops

Toshiba's are OK, i have had a bad experience with the power input lifting off the motherboard.

I own a dell desktop, but not a laptop, i have friends who have dell laptops and are very very happy with them
