Are my chances of a high UAI vanished? But MOST IMPORTANTLY, where are the areas I may need to improve on? Thanks.

School rank: 196th.

Term 4:

Adv. English - 5+/44
4U - 1/6
3U - 3/14
Chemistry - 5+/12 [Was 1st in Preliminary]
Physics - 2/13
Biology - Top 5-10. [Was 2nd in Preliminary]

Term 1 (My predictions):

Adv. English - Top 5-10
4U - 3/6 or 4/6 :( [5 topics out of 8 were tested in the half yearly]
3U - 7+/14 :( [Most of the 3U course was tested in the half yearly]
Chemistry - Top 5/16 [Or less]
Physics - Top 5/14
Biology - 1-5/22

I feel like I'm going to drop down in my subjects for the half yearlies, besides Chemistry and Biology. But my predictions are really inaccurate at times, especially when I thought I was going to get bottom rank in 3U term 4, but I did okay in the end.

Thanks.

Edit: I will edit this or make a new thread once I get my actual term 1 results back.

What is the specific UAI that you are aiming for?

With your current result, 98+ seems out of reach unfortunately. But mid 95 is still quite achievable.

Reshad!
Stop stressing about it! At the moment, considering what you told me and your predictions, I reckon your predicted would be like 95-98. Like I told you, make sure you pick urself up for trials. Also, check with your subject coordinators to find how many people got band 6's in each of your subs and in the case of the ones you are topping, what was the highest mark over the last 2-3 years. Then enter those marks into SAM and voila!

Thanks guys.

o_O Namu. What if I do really well externally (when moderation comes into play)? My new maths teacher is really pushing the whole class in 3U/4U, which is why we're speeding through the course. It's exhausting internally (since we have to catch up on a lot of homework and the revision of topics), but it'll be rewarding externally.

dude, u can easily get in the top ranks in all your subjects from here until the trials.....it's just about putting ur head down and work hard!!!

so 98 imo is still very achievable.

You could push up your ranks for trials and then maybe get 98+?

I think you need to study hard for most

Adv English, 3u, Chem & Bio.. also try to push up physics to 1. I'm sure you can do it!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Well, anything can happen you know. If you do really well in externally (hence your class), of course, your mark will be very high as it will be moderated that way.

However, remember, if you are ranked like 4th or 5th, you can be "dragged" by those above you.

Dragged up? I see. Thank you.

i'd be quite happy with those rankings at our school.

but i guess it depends on the candidature. if you think that you will get better external results then them, then you really would need to push up internally since its a 196 ranked school. but if the candidature is good enough, then dont worry, your fine.
