Sup.

I need some new external speakers for my laptop, since the treble decided to screw up in my current ones.

I'd prefer 2.1 (ie. 2 speakers and a sub), especially one with a bass and treble control knob.

This one looks quite awesome and has plenty of good reviews, but im not too good with speakers..

My main usage will be for music, gaming, and movies.

What do u think of those logitech ones?

What can u recommend me?

Price limit is $250, but i dont wanna go more than $200 since i can get those logitech ones for that much.

GOGOGO!

They sound better.

Edit:
I own Altec Lansing VS2421s. Awesome sound for $90 but very very poorly protected. I have to make sure I don't keep my phone near the satellites or they starting getting static as soon as there's an incoming call.

i doubt $30 speakers will be good quality
Dude, i went to DickSmith and spent $20 on a pair of headphones.

Sound so perfect, i could here the bomb beeping at Bomb Site A from Bomb Site B on the CSS map De_Dust 2.

Never underestimate the cheap products.

Logitech LS 21 - $50 or less

I posted a similar thread.

http://community.boredofstudies.org...hat-you-recommendations-2-0-2-1-speakers.html

Omie Jay, I was in exactly the same situation as you.
I needed a set of decent 2.1 speakers instead of relying on the shitty laptop speakers also for music, games and movies.
Listening to heavy metal, rock, pop, etc on them is awesome.
The quality on eurobeat songs is OK.
However when listening to acid jazz, there seems to be a lack of that distinctive bass present in acid jazz.

I bought the Logitech LS21 and they cost only around $50.
If you turn it up full blast it's just enough to wake the neighbours on the other side of your fence.
However this won't be the case if you connect it to a PSP, (fuck that I play DJ MAX for christs sakes I need that maximum volume as much as possible) even on full blast it won't wake them up easily.

Now I bought the Logitech LS21 as a nice set of 2.1 speakers, I need a good set of headphones.
What headphones are you using?

XFX XGear Headset With Vibration Function.

Not sure about in stores but found this site.
XFX XGEAR-HEADSET - $29.00 - Scorpion Technology

K they might be ugly, but the make up for it in pure awesomeness, now that i found a pair again, might buy them.

I have the Z4's. They're pretty and are a good enough quality. I definitely recommend them.

The Logitechs Uncle posted are your best bet.

I'd go for 5.1 personally. I have them. Don't have a 3 port sound card so I use two double adapters. lololol

Generally, anything from Logitech is your best bet in cheap professional sounding speakers.

I have a pair at mine, and they sound insane for home theatre speakers. Most of the Logitec speakers tend to sound the same, they just have different amps. The larger the system, the warmer the sound.

This coming from an Audio Engineering student.

But personally, if my budget was $250, I'd be out looking at professional studio grade speakers. Cheap ones, but still much better than a lot of hifi systems. You can get them with subs as well.

Really it depends on the speakers, i set up my mums surround sound/ 5.1 speakers in her loungeroom, then again i was in the roof for about an hour wiring speakers.

M5 wall mounts (like photo mounts) and speakers, as i said, depends on the speakers.

But with your space, and with a decent 2.1 set up, you should be fine.

BTW i loled at the speakers, i use to have those.
