i reeeeeeeeeally want an ATAR of 90, but im not sure if ill be able to do that, because my school was ranked 409th last year, and its not like im coming first in all my subjects.

These are my approximate overall ranks (we havent got our overall ranks back yet):

Adv English: about 8/40
Maths: 3/22
Ext 1 maths: 3/3 (lol)
chemistry: 4th or 5/16
biology: 2/21
Business: about 6/41
SOR: about 16/96

would i still be able to get an ATAR of around 90 with those as my ranks, considering my schools rank?

to give u an idea of my school's performance, in the CSSA trial for chemistry, the average mark for my class was 48%

in business CSSA, about half the cohort failed.

in maths CSSA, only 6 people passed.

these were my CSSA trial marks/ranks....

adv english= 76/105 = 5th
maths= 108/120 = equal 2nd
MX1 = 38/84 = 3rd
chemistry = 60/100 = 5th :(
biology = 87/100 = 1st
business = 73/100 = 6th
SOR = 35/50 = 14th

and these are my overall, final assessment marks (which i worked out using the weightings of each assessment, etc)

maths= 89%
biology= 88%
business= 75%
chem= 78%
english= 74%
ext maths= 24/50
SOR= 37/50

ah. so much writing.

from that, 90 is possible if you smash externals.

yeah i know... and my english rank is gonna be crap, coz i only got a good rank in like 2 assessments, one being the trials (5th)

so im probably not gonna be able to get band 5 for english, seeing as my rank will be about 8th or 9th, and not many people are going to do well... :(

I don't think it's possible with getting at least band 6 in the externals. At a school ranked that low, unless your coming first internally (which isn't that case), your going to have to work like hell to get those marks.
