i thought 7 was supposed to have less system requirements than vista. Vista needed 1 gb. i read somewhere that 7 only needed 512mb. mustve been wrong

I have heard about people running on 512 MB of Memory, i think the reason they are saying is 1GB is because when people run it on 512 it will not run to expectations so they will not have the whole vista capable problem again.

Makes sense. I think you could most probably run 7 on 512mb, but microsoft is giving itself a "saftey margin" in terms of system requirements to avoid more public backlash like they got from vista.

i loooooooooooooooooove windows 7, been with microsoft since the end of 2007 when i did the beta shit lol, my laptop is pimped out so it runs great. I love the improvements, the old betas always fk'd up. Im planning to buy the full version soon. If i can get 400 bucks (400000000000000 in student moneys). I want to test out the multi-touch *drools*

Yea, that's if you've got a touch screen computer. You'll have to just test it at the store.
