Get your storeperson to ask the Coke rep for spare 18- and 30-pack boxes. We got a whole stackload of empty 30- and 18-packs for Coke/Diet/Zero, so we can just re-do damaged boxes.

Alternatively we just sell them to the Social Club. I don't think I have ever seen soft drink reduced in our store, either as a whole box or as individual cans.

Apple bites over Woolworths logo

Fucking idiots. Imagine if Apple won. They would (Apple) wanna give is a fair few million $$ to think of a new one, remove it from all the stores that have got it and remove it from all the products its displayed on, then to Re brand everything all over again.

There was like 100 coke zero cans expiring the other week, they had about 3 days to go when someone actually checked the expiry, yet the manager just didn't bother and the poor repairs clerk had to empty every single one a week later. What I thought was to just through them on a table out the front for like 10c each, but nooooooo. And they wonder why Consumables never ever makes budgets....

Do any other BigW stores or even Woolies have Vending Machines in their tea rooms?

is it? we've been doing it like that for ages.

we also have them on the shelf as well, but for $1.20
if you mean the cans that are individually damaged (dented?) then that's ok I guess, but if you just mean the cans that come out of a damaged 30pk that are otherwise fine (that can be sold as oddments for $1.20 on the shelf like you said) then yeah that's not really kosher. pretty sure the company doesn't agree with handing out stock to social clubs (damaged or not).

our vending machine is $1 a can - the social club buys coke on special (when its like 50c a can) and keeps the profit.

Haha read about this ages ago. It won't happen because essentially Woolies never referred to it as being an apple (it's a "piece of fresh produce"), and Woolies doesn't have music players with the logo on it so the products aren't really competing. Lah.

This came up in conversation at work today, because a while ago we were VERY bored and made a stencil with the new logo on it for putting stencilled nutmeg on top of our custard tarts. The area bakery specialist found out about it somehow, and asked me today whose idea the "apple stencil" was. I told him about the article and heh :haha:

I've found a way to log into POS with a barcode.. The only catch is, you have to click "Sign on", and enter your user numbers first. The barcode (with password encoded) can automatically log you in after that.

I created a Code39 barcode (as it is for numbers) with just the password. Only problem is, it won't scan on the registers, but it will scan on the smokeshop portable barcode scanners.

I'm working on finding a different type of barcode that WILL work on all, so give me some time and i'll get back to you.

Did he like it? that sounds pretty awesome. Ive seen a store that had the logo in their olive displays in the deli cabinets (surrounds was the black olives and the logo made out of the green ones.)
