but don't you just love going in to get stuff on your day off...and they ask you to work. i avoid going in now, just go to coles further down the road, as one of the supervisors came up to me and full on had a go at me because apparently i left after close without "waiting for her". i was like WTF?
Thats what happened to me on Monday! Except I hadn't even made it into the centre, I was still in the carpark.

Haha yes it is The Claw. I remember she rocked up once ten minutes before closing back in my operator days and just followed us round awkwardly and raising her eyebrows at everything. Said something about how we've "always been a bit different out here", that was back in the days when we locked our cigarettes in the girls toilets. :snowman:
Haha The Claw.

She's not too bad, as long as you don't do the slightest thing wrong in the eyes of loss prevention.

Speaking of loss prevention, my SM had me speak to the intellectually disabled woman who works in my department (she's in her mid 40s). She keeps walking through the store entrance when she goes on tea/lunch/home with a massive backpack.

They reckon CMS & loss prevention are conspiring against her -_-

Haha.
But on a slightly related note, tonight my SM said I had shown real improvement in his time (since March) and I don't stress as much! FUCK YES I'M AWESOME :p

(Mainly because my normally tough as nails supervisor who was doing tonight with me had fallen apart in the time between our 3IC leaving and me coming in tonight. I felt so sorry for her, she had the STM, SM and SSS after her balls. But my positive feedback from the SM and SSS made tonights epicly bad night slightly okay).
Yayyyyyyyy!! Proud as punch of you miss Jess!!

Lulz I always thought you were male. I like making these assumptions before looking at the 'sex' bit under your avatar. The old lady giving you lollies is so sweet by the way!

I'm pretty sure i have never cried at work. Once I cried at home when I forgot to go to work. But that's all.
Lol that's hilarious!

As for stealing the worst I've seen is last year an operator got done and confessed to stealing 1000's of $$ of cigis over three years! quite shocking. He worked close and would grab a couple here and there. he got busted by two staff members who were having a private convo in the locker room out of sight but saw him take two packets and put them in his locker.
The lamest I have seen is a night filler got fired for eating a packet of lollies that was damaged. DM dobbed him in. That sucks, your job for a packet of lollies

Thank you :) Shame my CSM wasn't around to hear it.

My sup shirt is at warehouse, ugh that means I might have to wear it soon :(
So true, I'm glad I don't have to wear the stripy shirts U.G.L.Y! our LLM isn't ordering any cause she doesn't like them, "stripes aren't a good look on me" are they on anyone???

One of our supervisors has one but she will not wear it because it clashes with her hair.
I've only seen our STM, SSS and Deli Specialist in one. I noticed that both the SSS and Deli Specialist had vests over the top to 'disguise its fugliness' (direct quote from our SSS).

It'll look hot Jess.. Haha.
Oh wow! That's really vain haha it's a work uniform geeez!
We were talking about how there is so many different tops to choose from this time the other day! Like there's heaps..
Our CSM rarely wears it but the 3ic wears it constantly, doesn't look too bad on him coz he is a skinny rake.. Lol. But we told him that it looks like the maccas uniform but in green haha

Someone told me that someone at our store got fired for eating part of a lettuce a few years ago. They probably wanted to sack him anyway though and that was just the excuse to do it.

In woolies defense, the line has to be drawn at 0 theft, seriously, if they let one person off, then others who do it can be like "Oh but X did it and didn't get fired!" etc.

My best advice would be to talk to the perishables manager, say you are interested in changing depts, if they need people they may train you. That's how I got off checkouts initially.

I heard that the striped shirts are for the top three in the store and the CSM - AKA: SM, STM, SSM, CSM.

Kinda true, they are also for supervisors, but I'd only bother getting one if you do either a fair amount, or a regular spot of supervision. They are a few dollars more than all the other shirts, and look like pyjamas.

I know. It looks so queer. lol.

Btw - I've gotta great story to share.

Was working today, with manager and 2ic + 2 other staff members.
All of a sudden, we hear (2ic was aware of this) the store manager announcce over the PA - Attention customers and staff, we have a special guest here today in the store.
And then that guy went on the pa, said my managers name (whom I don't list for privacy issues), I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?

My manager was like. You've gotta be kidding me. and went bright red. We all (par 1 staff member in the deli) went up to the service desk. and just saw him propose to her in person. It was great. All the customers stopped to look, checkout staff stopped serving, it was so nice.

I got told by our previous SSM that if you get a regularish supervision shift - ie I generally do thursdays - then you are expected to have one, and be wearing it once the backorder issues are cleared.
I only ordered one, and I figure if thats the only one I ever have, then thats cool.

Hate to admit it was my turn to cry at work today.
